    Inclusive by Design Concert

    Adrian Anantawan, a celebrated violin soloist has assembled a duet to perform a concert by composers with disabilities in the style known as  Inclusive by Design.  The performance will include each composer’s story and music will be interpreted in American Sign Language as well as captioned.  Additionally, the performance will include an interpretive mural painted live on stage by painting performance artist  Nancy Ostrovsky.  All of the performance elements will be audio described by renowned describer  Celia Hughes.

    The creative team, including producer Charlie Washburn and Deaf Consultant Bonnie Kaplan will be on hand for the LEAD conference session on applying Universal Design to the Performing Arts on Thursday.

    Plan to join the Kennedy Center, Museum of Fine Arts, Museum of Science and VSA MA in Boston, Massachusetts for the 2012 LEAD Conference on August 21-24. 

    The concert is presented by VSA Massachusetts and is sponsored by the Carl and Ruth Shapiro Family Foundation, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.
