VSA Mass Is Looking For Interns

VSA Massachusetts is seeking college and graduate students who are interested in interning with our COOL Schools program or in our development department. We currently have opportunities in Boston for the 2012-13 school year.
COOL Intern
Must have work study or gain course credit
Hours: 5 โ 20 per week
The COOL Intern will help to coordinate our COOL (Creative Outlook On Learning) School Program. Our collaborative model offers teachers an opportunity to engage their students through the arts, see their students responding in new ways, and experience content, skills, or concepts from the unique perspective found through the arts. VSA MA serves students with and without disabilities in inclusive and separate education settings in grades K-12.
Coordinating school partnerships involves:
- Organize and systematize paperwork between VSA MA, artists and teachers in schools across Massachusetts
- Update COOL program database
- Document learning in COOL classrooms
- Obtain feedback from partner schools
Qualifications:
Excellent written and communication schools, familiarity with k-12 public schools, computer skills (MS office, Google docs) and team oriented.

Development Intern
Must have work study or gain course credit
Hours: 5 โ 20 per week
The development intern will assist with fundraising efforts and grant writing.
Internship responsibilities may include:
- Develop and assist in writing grant proposals from federal, state and local government as well as from private and public corporate foundations
- Assist in the development of funding opportunities in developing alternative funding sources for existing programs
- Participate in research efforts including literature reviews and statistical information
- Facilitate mail and email correspondence with individual donors and prospective donors
- Update donor database
- Assist with brainstorming, planning, and implementation of direct mail and email fundraising efforts
- Attend monthly All Access Pass tours
Qualifications: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer skills (MS Office), research skills, keen attention to details and team oriented.
