    Wilhelmina Peragine

Masters in Education Candidate at The Harvard Graduate School of Education in the Arts in Education Program

    What are your favorite pastimes?
"Singing, drawing, painting, reading, dancing and spending time in nature."

If you could be a cartoon character, who would you be?
"Hmm . . . I didn't have a TV growing up so I'm not qualified to answer this question."

You are trapped on an island.  What three items do you want to have with you?
"A marimba, a coconut tree and a tome of the best stories ever told with blank spaces for illustrations.  (I'd use found objects as drawing implements.)"

Do you have any uncommon talents or quirks?
"I know about 40 different rounds (cyclical songs) and I love to share them with friends and strangers.  The thing about rounds is that friends and strangers have to participate in order to get the intended experience."

    What brings you to VSA?
"I am driven to bring high quality arts experiences to all children and youth through integrated curriculum design and rich arts learning.  The COOL Schools Program does just this!  I am especially looking forward to attending the COOL workshops this fall, working with Teaching Artists and teachers and watching students flourish throughout the year."

What are you doing during your internship?
"I am working as the Education Program Assistant to help coordinate our COOL School Program.  This involves organizing and systematizing paperwork between VSA, artists and teachers in schools across Massachusetts, updating the COOL program database, documenting learning in COOL classrooms, obtaining feedback from partner schools and assisting with brainstorming, planning and implementation of professional development for artists and teachers."
