The Mitchell Gallery
Deadline: January 31, 2014
The Mitchell Gallery in Anne Arundel County, Maryland, presents a national juried exhibition, Less is More. It is open to all artists over the age of 18 residing in the United States and Puerto Rico. Selected artists will receive cash prizes, and all artists will be invited to a reception with Mitchell Gallery Board of advisors, gallery owners, press, and sponsors. Artist work will be exhibited online and on-site. Domenic Iacono, director of Syracuse University Art Galleries, is the exhibit juror.
WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival

WorldFest-Houston International Film Festival (now it's 47th year!) continues with its totally dedicated Independent Film screening format for the upcoming unspooling at the flagship AMC Studio 30 Dunvale Theaters. WorldFest will screen just 55-60 feature film and 100 Short Film Premieres, with a complete and absolute emphasis on the American and International Independent feature films and with a continuing annual spotlight on an individual country and its films. WorldFest also offers competition in TV Production, Documentary, Corporate & Business Films, Student & Experimental, TV Commercials, Film & Video Production, Music Videos, New Media (Interactive & Web Sites) and unproduced Screenplays.
U.S./Japan Creative Artists' Program

The U.S/Japan Creative Artists' Program provides support for up to five outstanding contemporary or traditional artists from the United States to spend a three-month residency in Japan. Eligible applicants are architects, choreographers, composers, creative writers, designers, media artists, playwrights, visual artists, or solo theater artists who work with original material (including puppeteers, storytellers and performance artists). Multidisciplinary artists and artistic directors of theater or dance companies are also eligible. Selected artists will receive a grant award in the amount of $20,000 to cover housing, living, and professional expenses for either 1 artist or a collaborative team and up to $2,000 for round trip transportation for the artist.
The Rubys, Project-Based Funding

The Rubys were established by the Greater Baltimore Cultural Alliance in 2013 for emerging and established Baltimore-regional artists for the creation of innovative and bold endeavors that will have significant impact for the artist and on the community at-large. The grants support the region's gems – the local creative community of performing, visual, media, and literary artists. Artists may apply for one grant in one of four discipline categories—Performing Arts, Media Arts, Visual Arts, Literary Arts—and grants will be awarded in each discipline category. Artists may apply for grants of up to $10,000 to be applied to a project over a 12-month period.
"Bodies" Juried Exhibit

Artists of any media are invited to submit work for a juried show on the theme of "Bodies." We are looking for a wide range of responses that reflect the physical, experiential, political, historical or emotional aspects of the body. Artists that re-interpret or expand beyond the traditional aspects of figure drawing and painting are especially encouraged to apply.
2014 Dance Omi International Dance Collective

Professional dancers and choreographers of all disciplines who wish to collaborate with diverse, international dance artists of different backgrounds are encouraged to apply for this 3-week residency in beautiful upstate New York. Under the direction of Dance Omi Director Christopher K. Morgan and a Guest Mentor, a group of highly accomplished, diverse dance artists will experiment, create, and collaborate in a facilitated, supportive setting. All awarded fellows receive full room and board, but are responsible for their own travel funds. This year's residency will run August 5 - 25, 2014.
The 18th International Edvard Grieg Competition for Composers – Organ Solo

The 2014 competition - The 18th International Edvard Grieg Competition for Composers - is for organ solo. Oslo Grieg Society invites composers from all over the world to write "variations for organ solo on a theme by Grieg". Total playing time: Maximum 10 minutes. There is no registration form. Send the score as a pdf file by e-mail to: composercompetition@oslogriegsociety.com. Three or more finalist works will be performed at The Oslo Grieg Festival 2014. The winning composer will be awarded 1500 Euro.
American Protégé International Concerto Competition

International Concerto Competition 2014 is open to all instruments, including strings, piano, voice and winds. We invite school students and adults to participate in the Competition. There is no age limit for the adult participants. Winners will perform on Sunday, April 20, 2014 (Easter) at 11:30 AM at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and on Monday, May 26, 2014 (Memorial Day) at 3:30 PM at Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall in New York City. A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded based on the judges' recommendations.
The Hamiltonian Fellowship Program

Hamiltonian Artists encourages all interested artists who have not had prior gallery representation to apply for this competitive, two-year fellowship program, which serves as a steppingstone for emerging visual artists who have finished their academic training and are looking to transition into a professional art career. The fellowship program seeks to create a stimulating environment for continued artistic and professional growth. Through gallery exhibitions and art fairs, they enjoy heightened visibility and actively grow their professional networks over the course of the two-year program.
Sprout Film Festival

The 12th annual Sprout Film Festival will present a selection of features and shorts in all genres at in New York during a film festival running from May 31 to June 1, 2014. People with developmental disabilities as subjects and performers remain marginalized in film and television. This festival aims to raise their profile and showcase the work of this population. All lengths and genres are accepted. The festival programming committee will select and invite films at their discretion. Everyone who submits a film or video will be contacted via email, regular mail, or telephone by March 15, 2014.
3rd International Competition for Composers and Soloists "The Respighi Prize"

The Respighi Prize has been established to encourage and offer a performance opportunity for young talented composers and soloists through the inspiration of Ottorino Respighi's music. Participants must be currently enrolled in (or recent graduates of) music conservatory or college, under 40 years of age. Winners will receive a Certificate Award as Winner of The Respighi Prize; World Premiere of composition (for composers) and performance as featured soloist with the Chamber Orchestra of New York; Recording of the concert, for archive and promotional use.
ART in Embassies Program

Established by the United States Department of State in 1964, the ART In Embassies Program is a global museum that exhibits original works of art by U.S. citizens in the public rooms of approximately 180 American diplomatic residences worldwide.
