Call for Entry: THE SEED

THE SEED is for artists working in a variety of mediums. Each artist will be given one dream, the same dream, to read and use as a inspiration in creating one piece of art. The dream, THE SEED, is simply a unified launching pad that will serve as an underlying theme for the show. Artist can interpret/incorporate THE SEED as they see fit in the creation of their work. All the works will be exhibited together, in one space. This is an opportunity for artists to work along side other talented individuals, your work standing alone and as part of the whole - creating a venue for cross exposure as well as collaboration.
Call for Entry: Lore Degenstein Gallery Sixth Annual Figurative Drawing and Painting Exhibition

Lore Degenstein Gallery hosts a juried visual art competition and exhibition open to two-dimensional figurative artists (referencing the human figure), working in painting, drawing, or printmaking, who are over the age of 18. This year's juror is Pamela Wilson, a figurative artist and art educator living and working in Santa Barbara, California. Wilson will select the works in the exhibition and announce the awards ($5,000) at the exhibition opening reception.

An Ideas Competition to repurpose massive water pump components from the 1890s that once powered a now abandoned mental hospital, into sculpture or functional items like seating or bike racks, way-finding and signage. One winning entry will receive $1,000. Open to all. The project will celebrate the quirky anomalies and rich history of the site. When the property is developed, this may be one of the only remaining items to tell a story of the place. The goal is to bring the winning idea to life and connect residents and visitors to the new park, hiking trails, river vistas, and history of the area.

First Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival

The First Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition and Festival, a competition and festival for 13 to 17-year-old pianists, will take place June 21-28, 2015, in Fort Worth, Texas in Ed Landreth Auditorium and PepsiCo Hall on the campus of TCU. 1997 Cliburn Gold Medalist, in-demand touring artist, and esteemed adjudicator Jon Nakamatsu will serve as jury chairman, and the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will perform with each of three finalists under the baton of dynamic conductor Mei-Ann Chen. Competition performances will be webcast live at Cliburn.org.
